The transfer window is about to re-open after shutting following its mini-opening ahead of the summer’s Club World Cup. The window will officially re-open on Monday (16 June) and clubs are continuing to make deals in the interim.
Liverpool are making plans for a Florian Wirtz medical after agreeing a record £116.5m deal for the German superstar. The Premier League champions, who have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, will make Wirtz their club-record signing after agreeing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen. However, they may well lose left-back stalwart Andy Robertson, with Atletico Madrid circling.
Manchester United, who have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m, are negotiating with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo, who would prefer a move to Old Trafford over Tottenham Hotspur even as Thomas Frank takes charges in north London – though Spurs want Mbeumo and teammate Yoane Wissa.
Mikel Arteta has made Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig their top priority for a striker, and Arsenal hopes to sign Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi. But according to reports, the Gunners have made a bid for Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres, another dorward alternative. Meanwhile, Chelsea’s attempts to sign Jamie Gittens, a winger for Borussia Dortmund, have been rejected.

An update on the future of Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho’s future is being updated as his departure from Manchester United draws nearer. Despite Bayer Leverkusen’s interest and Ten Hag’s admiration for him, the Argentine’s top objective is to remain in the Premier League. The Premier League is the player’s top choice, and a deal with Leverkusen would be difficult.
Schick being eyed by Premier League clubs
Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick could be on the move this summer, having received multiple enquiries from both the Premier League and Serie A. According to Sky Germany, new Leverkusen boss Erik ten Hag wants to keep the Czech international and Schick may well see the ex Man Utd coach’s arrival as a fresh start.
If Schick does not move this summer, a contract extension could be on the cards with his current deal expiring in two years. He recently rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia.
